The Story: The Fenwood Ranch is located a few miles east of Anderson, and just slightly south of Redding. Minutes from Interstate 5, this ranch was eyed by developers for a golf course, a school, and a subdivision, but the owners opted for a conservation easement. This ranch boasts Shasta county historical sites, such as portions of the historic town of Parkville, China Gardens, and frontage on the Nobles Trail. This 2,240 acre ranch contains over two miles of Sacramento River frontage, encompassing the area between the mouth of Cow Creek to the mouth of Bear Creek. The ranch is certified organic pastureland for Prather Ranch cattle.
The conservation easement is held with the Shasta Land Trust. The Shasta Land Trust is based in Redding and the Fenwood Ranch was their first conservation easement project. Fore more information, please view the Shasta Land Trust website-www.shastalandtrust.org
