The multi-cut berseem clover seed was donated from the California Crop Improvement Association as a research gift for a Cal Poly senior project by James Rickert.  The experiment was to determine if this clover can produce mature seed as a summer crop.  Due to the shorter growing season, the crop did not mature in time.  The clover has great forage potential and is a great rotation to fix nitrogen in organic farming systems.  The experiment will be harvested for hay to feed Prather Ranch organic cattle.
