Wild Rice   

Equipment Used

Modified full-track 915 International rice harvester stripped down to the tracks/Chevy body style.  Used for rolling and pulling the Phoenix harrow.

International half track combine with a modified 6 foot SWACO reel.

Sno-cat purchased in 1997.  This machine is used for rolling, seeding, and fertilization in flooded fields.

John Deere used to pull the Phoenix harrow and for incorporation of fertilizer and seed.

 

 

River Ranch has been a producer of wild rice since the early 1980s.  In 2002, River Ranch has grown to approximately 800 acres in cultivation.  River Ranch has also been the producers of Foundation Franklin wild rice for the last six years.  In 2002, River Ranch expanded their wild rice seed project with organic wild rice seed.  The wild rice not grown for seed is sent to the Fall River Wild Rice processing plant.  River Ranch is a member of Fall River Wild Rice.
